Ernesto Sarezale is the pen name of a Basque cognitive scientist, writer and performance poet based in London. Ernesto has performed at a variety of poetry events, cabaret nights, clubs and miscellaneous arts events, mostly in London and England, but also recently in Canada and the US. In 2002 he founded and co-hosted “Homophone”, a successful series of poetry readings at the Poetry Cafe in London. A number of his poems have been published: on paper (Chroma, Magma, Rising), on line (Transparent Words,www.the-cyber-kitchen.com) and on cd (Taking the Mike and The Creative Swing compilations).”
Caroline Bird Born in London in 1986. She has been a winner of the Simon Elvin Young Poet of the YearAwards 1999 and 2000, she was short-listed for the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize 2001 and was a winner of an Eric Gregory Award for Poetry in 2002, the Peterloo Poets Competition (16-19yr olds) 2002, 2003 and 2004, and was a runner-up in the Tower Poetry Competition 2004. She has had poems published in P.N Review, Poetry Review and The North. She has done poetry readings at The Royal Festival Hall,Cheltenham Festival, and Ledbury Festival. Her first poetry collection ‘Looking Through Letterboxes‘ was published by Carcanet in February 2002. Her new collection ‘Trouble Came To The Turnip,’ is due to be published by Carcanet in September.
Polly Gould is an artist and writer based in London. Gould works with performance, sound, video and drawing. She examines the narrative urge in our lives; the things we say to each other, the way we end up quoting favourite books or living our lives like scenes from films. She explores the ‘writing oneself backwards’ of autobiography and the work of memory, and questions of voice, power and desire. She has recently shown at Danielle Arnaud Gallery and is included in a forthcoming collection of short stories by artists, published by Serpents Tale.
Janice Day As lead female vocalist with the original line-up of both the Piccadilly Dance Orchestra and the Cotton Club Orchestra, Janice Day has appeared at the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Purcell Room; Pizza on the Park; Proms in the Park; and the Wigmore Hall (for Radio Three). As a writer, she was shortlisted for the recent UKFC 25 Words Or Less competition and longlisted for the BBC Three’s End of Sitcom competition: The Last Laugh. Twice selected for TAPS training, she contributes regularly to ScriptWriter Magazine and is currently writing a commissioned Romcom feature film.

Sean Burn (Writer, Ghost Tag) Sean is a writer, artist and performer who tours, exhibits and publishes internationally. Commissioned theatre works include In an Age of Double-Glazing for Paines Plough (1999), Cutter for Half Moon Theatre (2004 and winner of 2004 TIME OUT ‘Play of the Year for Young People’ Award), Red Voice for Birmingham Repertory (2004), Voices for Pegasus Youth Theatre (2006) and Taking the Blood of Butterflies (Weaver Hughes Ensemble). His short film Stealing Brecht and The Terror We Create are currently receiving showings across Europe. Recent text-art projects include Dream Horizon for disability arts organisation – Dada South, Re:Word for Fold Gallery, Cumbria and Válkaovocekristusvodadíte (Warfruitchristwaterchild) for Cesta, Czech Republic. His first full length collection of prose Edge Cities is published by Skrev Press and Wrecking Ball Press publish his first full length poetry collection Never Sleep With Anyone Whose Got More Scars Than Yu (both 2006). He is touring a new performance work in autumn 2006 with musician Garteh Mitchell for the Gulbenkian Cantrebury/Live Lit Consortium. A CD of this work will also be released.
Vanessa Mobiglia (Director, Ghost Tag) Vanessa trained as a theatre director at the University of Natal. While in South Africa she directed Dialogue between a Prostitute and Her Client and The Open Couple. The Open Couple was subsequently invited to take part in the Arts Festival, ‘Overload 6to8′ held at the Hexagon Complex in Pietermaritzburg. Since moving to London Vanessa has worked on a number of productions in the role of Assistant Director: Broken Voices (New Company, Tristan Bates Theatre), Etta Jenks (Weaver Hughes Ensemble, Finborough Theatre) and Seed (Muzikansky, Finborough Theatre).
Maria Thomas (Performer, Ghost Tag) Maria graduated from Birmingham School of Speech and Drama with a BA Hons degree. This is her third collaboration with Sean Burn and finds his work provocative and challenging. Theatre includes It’s Just A Name (Birmingham Rep Theatre & West Yorkshire Playhouse), Deeper Underground (The Pleasance Theatre & Edinburgh Festival Fringe), Cutter (Half Moon – Young Peoples Theatre, Schools & London Tour), Gimmie Lithium or Gimme Death (The Playground).Film includes Musical Royale, The Trousseau and Retribution, a short film due to be screened this year in Prague.
Inspired by Rachel Whiteread’s recent exhibition at the Tate Gallery, The Boxes is an insightful comedy about women, how they mask competitiveness and play by rules which only they understand. A slice of life, The Boxes tells the story of Jess, Emily and Molly, long-standing friends who share a flat. Their equilibrium is upset when Jess introduces new boyfriend Ash, who plays them off against each other in competition for his attention. Will the friendship survive, or will one of the girls abandon ship with a new first mate?
C. M. Palmer (Writer, KissCumKiss) Works hard to earn a crust in an unfair world. In his spare time, when he gets a minute, or two, he writes a play. Previous work includes: The Intern Saw More(University of Hertfordshire, 2003), and Witch-bitch (Pleasance Theatre, London, 2005).
Hugh Allison (Director, KissCumKiss) Hugh’s directing experience includes TaJ (“funny, real compelling, touching” – Gyles Brandreth), Pretty Boy (twice), J M Barries’ Rosalind (Five Stars in What’s On), Chekhov’s The Bear (Five Stars in What’s On) and two pieces for Theatre In The Pound: Appropriate Attire and The Source of All The Evil. Hugh has been Assistant Director for Pramface, I Just Broke Up!, Sex Death & A Baked Swan, and Kiss Me Kate. His next project is a tour of Chicken: Self-Portrait of A Boy To Rent , about the experiences of male prostitutes in the 1970s. THE YELLOWCHAIR PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE (aka TYPE) was founded by Hugh Allison in July 2003. It is dedicated to giving new talent their first chance to work on the London Fringe. Previous successes include writer Sam Hall (whose next play was produced at the Landor) and actors Nic Devalle and Guy Mandozzi who (after getting their break from Hugh) went on to tour the UK with Oklahoma! and Europe with Stomp! respectively.
Jenevieve Chang (Performer, KissCumKiss) A movement-based performer working across the fields of dance and theatre. Her UK credits include Burlesque! Jordan Pitt (Performer, KissCumKiss) A graduate from Middlesex University, where he studied Drama and Theatre arts with English. Prior to this he was a pupil at the Sylvia Young Theatre School. Jordan has appeared in various programmes for the BBC and ITV and also Cameron Mackintosh’s production of the musical OLIVER at the London Palladium.
Daniel McLeod (Performer, KissCumKiss) Trained at Mountview Academy of Performing Arts. Since leaving, he has been working mainly in film, but has made a return to theatre this year with various projects including Off The Page!’s productions of “The Bells” and “The Life And Death Of Tom Thumb The Great” at the Rosemary Branch Theatre, as well as “Resting In The Arms Of Morpheus” at the Lion & Unicorn. His first feature, “The Wake” has also had a recent release.

Christina Penna (Creator, Topsy-Turvy) A visual story-teller. She likes creating stories through her designs on stage and recently, through directing and video. Her main aim is to create a kind of universal language that communicates visually with the audience. She enjoys creating collages in a technical sense but also as metaphor in her work: the “collage” of the different identities one might have, the different sides of one’s psyche, revealing them at a certain time. Topsy–Turvy explores the interior world of a woman: a collage of anxieties, fantasies, memories, hysterias, physical pain, beliefs… One night she takes a path that leads her to the dark corners of her childhood. An image from the past invades her private space and seeks revenge: But from which of the two women? The topsy-turvy universe is another dimension from which she can see through herself clearly. Maybe this dream is turning into a slapstick comedy…
Out of Odium is an impassioned play that follows one extraordinary night in the life of the Callas family. It is the evening before Alfonso is due to take part in the Spanish Nation Day Parade, the first ex-facista to do so. Daniel, who has always been bitter about his grandfather’s role in the civil war, chooses this moment to bring his fiancé home. The play is a dynamic examination of guilt, history and the human capacity for forgiveness. In a dark attic somewhere in Madrid Alfonso tells his story and it is a story that needs to be heard.
James Hammond (Director, Out of Odium) completed his M.A in Advanced Theatre Practice (Directing) in 2003. Since then he has assisted Abigail Morris at Soho theatre and Bill Gaskill at the Arcola; he has completed the Royal Court Young Writers program and written several plays. James is the founding director of HITG Theatre Company with whom he has written or directed four successful Edinburgh productions. James recently directed “Come As You Are!” at the Gilbenkian theatre, Canterbury; he is also the artistic director of the murder mystery company “Death After Dinner” (.com). James is currently working on an as yet untitled devised piece with his company.
